8-Week Portrait Drawing Course

Portraiture is one of the most challenging subjects an artist can take on. This class focuses on making that challenge a little less painful. Learn the proportions of the face and facial features, the basic anatomy of the head and face, composition, draftsmanship, and values.

18″ x 24″ pad of newsprint paper
Fine point permanent markers
Charcoal, vine, or compressed charcoal (avoid the fat-squared compressed varieties)
Kneaded eraser
Art chamois (chamois from the auto part stores are more economical)

For the first class, bring the first 2 items and we’ll discuss the rest.

 

8-Week Figure Drawing Course

The human figure – the most complex and beautiful entity we know – contains all the aspects that we, as artists, struggle to learn. Explore the body from line, form, values, and planes, to gesture and anatomy. Focus on drawing from visual experience rather than from mental images. Discover how to work from simple to complex through quick gestures and extended sustained studies. Draw with us during this challenging and fun eight-week course.

Plein Air Painting Workshop

Push your creative boundaries in this immersive three-day workshop set against the stunning backdrop of Colorado’s spring season. Develop your outdoor painting skills as you capture the breathtaking beauty of the Pikes Peak region through plein air. Whether you’re a beginner, a seasoned artist, or somewhere in between, this experience is designed to help you grow and refine your ability to depict the local landscape.

Kids’ Art Camp!

Kids’ Art Camp invites children to discover the joy of creating with a variety of 2D and 3D materials. Through fun, hands-on activities like drawing to music, collage, rubbings, and more, campers will explore imaginative, non-representational art. All supplies and materials are included.

Camp Date & Time: June 5-6 and August 5-7
 
Camp Rate: $225 If regestering more than one child from a family, you may request a 10% discount
 
 

Adult Art Camp!

After recently hosting Kids Art Camp, we knew we had to offer one for the adults! Adult Art Camp will share with adult children the joy of working with multiple media in 2D and 3D. We will explore non-representational concepts through playful exercises like drawing music, collaging, doing rubbings, and more. All supplies and materials will be provided.

Still Life Oil Painting Class

Get back to basics during these instructional ongoing oil painting classes. Chris’s instruction will help you establish an organized palette based on value and temperature, as well as organize your painting method as you move from simple to more complex layers by focusing on shapes and values. Open to artists of all levels. Beginners will start with a monochromatic palette and progress to a full color palette.

Non-instructional figure drawing session focusing on short poses ranging from 1 minute to 20 minutes.
